Every shelter puppy arrives with the same question, and most answers to it are folklore. PredictPet exists to answer it the way a pediatrician would: with a growth chart, a family of curves, and a range honest enough to check later.
The mathematics is not ours. The growth standards underneath every chart were fitted to the published centile charts of the Waltham Centre’s study of healthy dogs, Salt and colleagues, 2017, in PLOS ONE. The charts cover dogs up to about eighty-eight pounds grown; heavier breeds wait until a second study of the giants can be sourced. The fitted parameters, their sources, and the checks they passed are recorded in the open, in the site’s own repository.
PredictPet is a Kleos production, made with care and no account required.
